Lawrie Phipps is a senior co-design manager. His current portfolio includes digital leadership and a range of emerging issues impacting on student experience. Previously he was the programme manager for the transformations programme, the users and innovation and institutional innovation programmes.
He has a background in environmental sciences and learning technology, working on various projects and programmes supporting and enhancing learning and teaching in higher education. He moved to Jisc in 2001, setting up and running the Jisc TechDis service, advising staff on supporting disabled students through the application of technology, before moving to the Jisc executive in 2006 to look at issues around emerging technology and web 2.0.
He has over 20 years experience in developing and delivering staff and educational development and was nominated for a SEDA@20 award for his work.
He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an associate fellow of the Staff and Educational Development Association.
