Deepak B. Phatak is Professor, IIT Bombay and co-chair of FoL 2020. In 2009, he was ranked among the 50 most powerful people in India. He has won several distinctions and awards and was conferred the Padma Shri by the Government of India in the 2013. An Open Source evangelist in India, Deepak has pioneered several initiatives to popularize Free and Open Source Software usage. He believes that India should soon migrate from the status of a net taker from Open Source, to that of a net giver to the Open Source community.

Devi Prasad Shetty is the Chairman of Board of Governors of IIM Bangalore. He is also the Chairman of Narayana Health which he founded in the year 2000. He initiated the concept of “micro health insurance scheme” in Karnataka.. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honours for his pioneering work in the field of medical care. These include ‘Padma Shri’ and ‘Padma Bhushan’ Award in 2003 and 2012 respectively and the ‘Rajyotsava Award’ in 2002 conferred by the Government of Karnataka. He was an Honorary Fellow at the College Physicians and Surgeons of Mumbai, Doctor of Laws in 2011 and has also been awarded the Doctor of Laws by the University of Minnesota in 2011.
Das Narayandas is the Edsel Bryant Ford Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School. He is currently the Senior Associate Dean, External Relations and Harvard Business Publishing. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Technology degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and a Ph.D. in Management from Purdue University.... Das previously has been Senior Associate Dean, Executive Education, Chair of the Executive Education Advanced Management Program and the Program for Leadership Development, as well as course head of the required first-year Marketing course in the MBA program. Prior to that, he taught the Business Marketing Elective in the MBA program. Das has twice been selected as the Class Day faculty speaker (2001 and 2004), and has received the award for teaching excellence from the graduating HBS MBA Class on several occasions. Other awards include The Robert F. Greenhill Award for Outstanding Service to the HBS Community (two-time recipient), the Charles M. Williams Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the Apgar Award for Innovation in Teaching. Das’s background includes management experience in sales and marketing that involved field strategic planning, field salesforce management, new product development, channel management and marketing communications. Das has co-authored two books and his articles have appeared in publications that include Harvard Business Review, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Service Research, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Research, and Sloan Management Review. Das has been quoted in publications such as The Economist and U.S. News and World Report amongst others. A former Manager with Midland Bank plc and as a full-time Senior Lecturer in Banking and Economics at Loughborough University have accumulated 40 years of experience in Business and Banking education, Higher Education management and teaching innovation. I am passionate about sharing experience with peers and frequently present at learning and teaching conferences and seminars. He recently stepped down as inaugural Associate Dean Teaching (2010-2017) at the School of Business and Economics at Loughborough University and now focus on on-line education. Research interests include personal and corporate insolvency, as well as debt counselling, SME lending by banks and student engagement with group work and technology in learning. In 2007 he was awarded a PhD based on personal insolvency research. He has intensely practical approach to his teaching and research work and have wide experience in teaching undergraduate, post-experience and postgraduate students both in the UK and abroad, including Liechtenstein, Ukraine, Finland and Singapore. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (now LIBF) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Recently he had been working with EFMD in Brussels on accreditation and the Chartered Association of Business Schools.
Lawrie Phipps is a senior co-design manager. His current portfolio includes digital leadership and a range of emerging issues impacting on student experience. Previously he was the programme manager for the transformations programme, the users and innovation and institutional innovation programmes. He has a background in environmental sciences and learning technology, working on various projects and programmes supporting and enhancing learning and teaching in higher education. He moved to Jisc in 2001, setting up and running the Jisc TechDis service, advising staff on supporting disabled students through the application of technology, before moving to the Jisc executive in 2006 to look at issues around emerging technology and web 2.0. He has over 20 years experience in developing and delivering staff and educational development and was nominated for a SEDA@20 award for his work. He has intensely practical approach to his teaching and research work and have wide experience in teaching undergraduate, post-experience and postgraduate students both in the UK and abroad, including Liechtenstein, Ukraine, Finland and Singapore.He is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an associate fellow of the Staff and Educational Development Association.

Mangala Sunder Krishnan is a Professor in the Chemistry Department and specializes in the area of theoretical molecular and magnetic resonance spectroscopies, quantum chemistry and quantum information. He obtained his Ph. D. in theoretical chemistry from McGill University, Montreal, Canada in 1988 and has spent several years in Canada as post-doctoral research fellow in Canada before returning to India as a faculty in IIT Madras. In addition, he is one of the founder-coordinators of the NPTEL project and has been associated with it since 2001.

He studied MBA in International Business from Indian Institute of Foreign Trade. He worked as Commissioner Weaker Section Housing and MD of AP State Housing Corporation implementing the INDIRAMMA housing programme aimed at creating a ‘hut-free’ State. Saravana Kumar is Joint Secretary, Higher Education, (ICC& TEL) Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. Joint Secretary. In his role as a SWAYAM Board Member he guides the activities of the digital learning initiatives of the Government of India.
Raghuram has been Director, IIM Bangalore, since February 2017. Prior to taking over as Director of IIM Bangalore, he was Professor and Chairperson of the Public Systems Group at IIMA. He has been Dean (Faculty), IIMA, Vice-Chancellor of the Indian Maritime University and Indian Railways Chair Professor. He specializes in infrastructure and transport systems, and logistics and supply chain management. He conducts research on the railway, port, shipping, aviation and road sectors. He has published over 35 refereed papers in journals and written over 160 case studies. He has published six co-authored books. He was awarded (i) ‘Life-time Achievement Award’ for Transport Excellence, by Mahindra and Mahindra, supported by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in 2018 (ii) ‘MC Puri Memorial Award’ for contribution to Operational Research in India in 2016 (iii) ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for contribution to Logistics and Infrastructure by EXIM News in 2014 and (iv) ‘Academician of the Year’ by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in 2012. He is a Fellow of the Operational Research Society of India, and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He has teaching experience at universities in India, USA, Canada, Yugoslavia, Singapore, Tanzania, UAE and Japan. He is a member of the Global Future Council on Mobility of the World Economic Forum and of the Board of Directors of four companies in the fields of infrastructure and logistics. Overall, he has been on the Board of 14 companies. He is on the Board of four educational institutions, one NGO and on the Advisory Board of a few other educational institutions. He has offered consultancy services to over 100 organizations including multilateral agencies. He has been part of various government policy making and advisory committees for the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Ministry of Shipping, Cabinet Secretariat, Comptroller and Auditor General, the Planning Commission and various State Governments. Raghuram has a BTech from IIT, Madras; a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM, Ahmedabad; and a PhD from Northwestern University, USA.
Dr. Deepak B Phatak has been working with IIT Bombay since 1971. His main concern is improvement in quality of education, at a large scale commensurate with the Indian national aspirations. Towards this end, he has dovetailed the synchronous distance education, which he started at IIT Bombay 15 years ago, into an innovative program for training 10,000 teachers at a time. He believes in developing affordable technological solutions. He heads the national initiative on Aakash tablets. He has been an advisor and IT consultant to organizations and companies, and has worked on many company boards. He has won several distinctions and awards, and has been conferred ‘Padma Shri’ by Government of India.
